Dr.Richard Kones, MD PhD, an academic and clinical cardiologist, attended NYU School of Medicine. While a student, he conducted independent research studying aldosterone in the Dept. of Physiology, and became a full member of the NY Academy of Sciences. He completed training in New York and continued a NIH Fellowship in cardiology at Tulane University School of Medicine. He collaborated at Tulane as a visiting research scientist, returning to New York Medical College as Director of the Coronary Care Unit to continue researching actions of inotropic agents, myocardial function, preservation of ischemic myocardium, and cardiogenic shock. He eventually relocated in Texas to wrote another book, teaching, publishing, and emphasizing translational research.
Dr Kones' interest in biochemistry and physiology was evident early in his career becoming President of the Chemistry Society at NYU College. A recipient of several scholarships, awards, and grants, his work includes publications in peer-reviewed medical journals, books, presentations, and lectures. He serves on a number of committees in various medical organizations, peer reviews for over 100 medical journals, and serves in the mentoring programs for the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, American Heart Association, and The Endocrine Society. Dr. Kones’ bio has appeared in a number of editions of Whos Who and biographical registries. He was a founding editor of Medpedia online, a collaborative educational project among several medical schools, where he served as a Board Member of the Committees on Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine, and Nutrition.
He is a Fellow of the American Heart Association Council on Basic Science, Royal Society of Medicine, Royal Society of Public Health, Fellow of the New York Cardiological Society, now merged with the NY Chapter of the American College of Cardiology, Founding Fellow of the American Geriatrics Society, Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology, the American College of Pharmacology, the Royal Society of Biology, and the American College of Nutrition.

Tables: All the tables should be cited in the text and description should be given below the table.
Figures: Author are requested to provide high-resolution images,. The aim of the figure legend should be to describe the key messages of the figure and the figure should also be discussed in the text. If a figure has been published before, authors need to submit written permission letter from the copyright holder to reproduce the materials. Figure legend should begin with term 'Figure' followed by figure number (e.g. 'Figure 1').
